Matt McTurk

LTA Level 5 Accredited plus coach, USPTR Pro and RPT National Pro

Matt began his tennis journey at County Junior level and earned his first senior cap for Yorkshire in 1991. Later that year, he moved to the U.S. on a tennis scholarship to attend Brunswick Junior College, then ranked No. 2 nationally. After returning to the UK in 1994, Matt competed professionally on the British Tour and ITF Futures circuit. His playing career also included German League tennis and a coaching and playing stint in Australia.

A lifelong learner, Matt regularly attends coach education seminars and workshops and has been mentored by some of the world’s most respected coaches.

He has coached some of Yorkshire’s top junior talent, with several of his players going on to compete internationally and represent Great Britain. Matt is also a two-time Yorkshire Men’s Doubles Champion (2005 & 2006) and still enjoys competing when time allows.

Passionate about player development, Matt focuses on instilling a strong work ethic and helping every athlete reach their full potential both on and off the court.

Donlan Tattersfield

LTA Level 4 Accredited Coach

Donlan started playing when he was five years old at Batley Tennis Centre and spent many hours on court as a junior to improve his game. Donlan achieved a high level of competitive tennis competing in county wide tournaments. Prior to coaching at Heaton Donlan has worked for the council delivering community tennis programmes in the parks and also has experience working with adult and juniors from beginner to advanced level players. Donlan is enthusiastic and passionate about helping players of all levels reach their full potential.

Abd-Ur Khan

LTA Level 3 Accredited Coach

Abd-ur’s tennis journey started on the junior programme at Heaton when Abd-ur was 10 years old. Having represented the club at junior level, he is now a Level 2 LTA Accredited coach. Abd-ur attends coach training at Heaton and is keen to develop himself as a coach. Abd-ur works with juniors of all ages and standards at Heaton from Red-Silver level. As part of Abd-Ur's role at Heaton he works in delivering sessions on our inclusive tennis programme where he runs visually impaired tennis sessions and mixed ability sessions for wheel chair tennis users. Abd-ur has a degree in sports and exercise science from Leeds Trinity University and aims to combine his knowledge in this area to become a better tennis coach.

Elliot March

Level 1 LTA Assistant Coach

Elliot has been part of the junior coaching programme at Heaton from the age of 5 and has progressed through the ranks representing the club in Team tennis in a number of age groups including the Bradford Parks U-15 team. Elliot loves helping other children and is keen to progress his coaching knowledge and experience further so that he can help develop the coaching programme at Heaton.

Noah Chorlton

Level 1 LTA Assistant Coach

Noah is passionate about all things tennis - playing, watching, coaching, and sharing that love with others. He began playing regularly a few years ago and recently earned his Level 1 coaching qualification. Noah’s goal is to help players improve their skills while having fun and hopefully developing the same love for the sport as he has.

Muhammad Daraz

Assistant Tennis Coach

Muhammad began playing tennis at the age of seven and has steadily progressed through the junior ranks. He has represented Heaton in the U15 Parks League, gaining valuable match experience along the way. Passionate about the game, Muhammad now enjoys sharing his knowledge and regularly supports coaching sessions, bringing energy and enthusiasm to every lesson.
