Our Bradford based coaches are led by Matt McTurk, one of Yorkshire’s leading tennis coaches - coach to a number of international junior players. The team are committed to ensuring a fun, safe environment where you or your child can flourish.
Matt began his tennis journey at County Junior level and earned his first senior cap for Yorkshire in 1991. Later that year, he moved to the U.S. on a tennis scholarship to attend Brunswick Junior College, then ranked No. 2 nationally. After returning to the UK in 1994, Matt competed professionally on the British Tour and ITF Futures circuit. His playing career also included German League tennis and a coaching and playing stint in Australia.
A lifelong learner, Matt regularly attends coach education seminars and workshops and has been mentored by some of the world’s most respected coaches.
He has coached some of Yorkshire’s top junior talent, with several of his players going on to compete internationally and represent Great Britain. Matt is also a two-time Yorkshire Men’s Doubles Champion (2005 & 2006) and still enjoys competing when time allows.
Passionate about player development, Matt focuses on instilling a strong work ethic and helping every athlete reach their full potential both on and off the court.

Leo began playing tennis at age 10 when he joined Harlow Tennis Club, quickly developing a passion for the game. Over the years, he has competed in tournaments across the country and continues to enjoy playing at a high level.
He began coaching in 2021 and has since progressed to become a qualified LTA Level 3 Coach. Leo works with players of all ages and abilities, and particularly enjoys helping players refine their technique and take their game to the next level.
Leo finds real reward in seeing his players improve and grow in confidence. He has a keen eye for advanced technical development and loves sharing his knowledge and experience with those eager to improve.
Leo is committed to continuous learning and development as a coach, and brings both passion and professionalism to every session.

Abd-ur is a highly experienced LTA Level 3 Accredited tennis coach, certified by leading organizations including the LTA, GPTCA, and ICA. His tennis journey began at the age of 8, progressing through the junior programme at Heaton, before later earning a 2:1 BSc in Sport and Exercise Sciences.
Specializing in coaching both juniors and adults of all ages and abilities, with a high proficiency in coaching Visually Impaired (VI) Tennis, in which he has been proud to work with some of Great Britain’s most promising and talented players. His coaching expertise has been honed through a variety of experiences, including visiting renowned tennis academies across the globe and learning from highly distinguished coaches in the industry.
Committed to delivering high-quality and professional coaching, Abd-ur Rehmahn continually integrates the knowledge gained from his certifications, practical experiences, and academic background to ensure every player receives high quality coaching that builds confidence and skill on and off the court. His ultimate goal is to make tennis not only a sport to excel in but accessible to all and a lifelong passion.

Elliot has been part of the junior coaching programme at Heaton from the age of 5 and has progressed through the ranks representing the club in Team tennis in a number of age groups including the Bradford Parks U-15 team. Elliot loves helping other children and is keen to progress his coaching knowledge and experience further so that he can help develop the coaching programme at Heaton.

Noah is passionate about all things tennis - playing, watching, coaching, and sharing that love with others. He began playing regularly a few years ago and recently earned his Level 1 coaching qualification. Noah’s goal is to help players improve their skills while having fun and hopefully developing the same love for the sport as he has.

Muhammad began playing tennis at the age of seven and has steadily progressed through the junior ranks. He has represented Heaton in the U15 Parks League, gaining valuable match experience along the way. Passionate about the game, Muhammad now enjoys sharing his knowledge and regularly supports coaching sessions, bringing energy and enthusiasm to every lesson.

Karam has been learning to play tennis at Heaton Tennis Club since the age of six. Karam not only loves playing tennis but has a real passion for teaching and coaching others. Karam is new to coaching, having only been actively involved in the program since October 2024. Karam is eagerly waiting to turn 16 next year when he will be eligible to complete his Level 1 Accredited coaching qualification.Karam has learnt a lot in his short time as an assistant coach and is thoroughly enjoying the experience. To date, Karam has worked with both the juniors and beginner adults and has received very positive feedback from both the students and the parents. Karam is an enthusiastic and competent assistant who will go on to become a very good professional coach
Sami began playing tennis at Heaton at the age of 7 and has since developed his skills through both coaching and participating in tournaments, including the U-15 Bradford Parks league. These experiences have enabled him to develop skills such as resilience, sportsmanship and determination. Sami finds coaching to be a rewarding experience and by working with younger tennis players he aims to share his skills and knowledge and at the same time develop his own coaching skills.
